Quercetin for Fighting the Flu

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away…” right? Well, it might be a good start!

Fighting off illnesses like the flu is an important part of having good health. A plant nutrient called Quercetin, found in fruits and vegetables, is particularly good at helping you fight off the flu according to an article on the National Center for Biotechnology Information website! The article explains how anti-viral use of Quercetin helps prevent flu infection by making it difficult for the flu virus to enter cells.  So even if you’ve already had your annual flu shot, consider using the foods you eat as part of the effort to keeping healthy!

Parents teach your kids about what it means to Own Your Health by showing them how to make food choices that potentially supercharge their already the super-powerful bodies with flu resistance!
